"The signing of the Treaty of Greene Ville on Aug. 3, 1795 opened up the Northwest Territory for future settlement. In honor of this moment of time, a historical marker was recently unveiled in the city of Greenville. The treaty ended the Indian Wars in Ohio and established the western border of the United States. With historical ties to Annie Oakley, a sharp shooter who toured with Buffalo Bill, Greenville continues to preserve its past as well as improve its future."
