"Dayton South: The South Park Historic District is a 24-block area of structures dating from the 1880s to the early 20th century. The neighborhood is located near the Oregon Historic District, downtown Dayton, the University of Dayton and Miami Valley Hospital. Mainly residential in character, South Park is significant because of the variety of its architecture, which includes vernacular, cottage, and high style examples, and because of its association with John H. Patterson, founder of the National Cash Register Co. Dayton North: Many residents within the DeWeese Ridgecrest neighborhood believe they live within one of the most visitor-friendly neighborhoods of Dayton. Located between the Stillwater and Great Miami Rivers, the area has attractions for the young and young at heart. "The DeWeese Parkway is part of our neighborhood," said Carl Brun, president of the DeWeese Ridgecrest Civic Association. "In addition to the residential homes along the parkway, there is a walking park with a 2-mile loop that not only residents enjoy but several visitors do as well. "We also have Wegerzyn Gardens with the newly built Children's Discovery Garden, Jim Nichols Tennis Center, Triangle Park and Howell Field. Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is also in our neighborhood and Island MetroPark is nearby. Our neighborhood is attractive to the people who live here and those who come to visit." Dayton West: Built on what once was the Siebenthaler pasture, the Dayton View Triangle features a variety of architectural home styles, from revival styles to English Tudors to Spanish Metropolitan to New England country cottages. The neighborhood continues to thrive with an active Dayton View Triangle Federation and strong support of volunteers. The "Triangle," with boundaries of Salem Avenue, Philadelphia Drive and Cornell Drive, was one of the first neighborhoods to become organized, which was about 30 years ago. "We are very well-organized, probably the best organized in the city," said Delores Robinson, president of the Dayton View Triangle Federation. "Our main focus is to keep our neighborhood clean and safe. We want our residents to enjoy living here and help maintain the unique and diverse flavor of our neighborhood. "
